Whether you’ve noticed a lump, a change in your breasts, or just want to check if everything is alright, we’re here to help. Our integrated breast health service offers everything from ultrasound guided diagnosis and biopsy, and breast cancer screening and treatment through to breast reconstruction following treatment of breast cancer.
We firmly believe that all women with breast implants should have ongoing breast checks for life. We know that there are medium to long-term risks associated with breast implants that need to be monitored. It is recommended that all patients are seen for a breast implant check on an annual basis.
Are you concerned about your breast implants? Here are some steps that we recommend you follow.
1. Contact your original surgeon
We recommend that you contact the surgeon that placed your implants. Your surgeon will have all the relevant details for your procedure and will be the best person to perform an examination and/or organise further investigations if required.
2.If you are unable to contact your original surgeon, there are two other options available:
a. No gap breast implant assessment
The Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery have a list of members who have agreed to provide no-gap consultation for breast implant assessment.

b. Book an appointment the Breast Implant Check Clinic at Macquarie
No matter who your surgeon was, you can book in for your annual check at the Integrated Breast Health Clinic at Macquarie, which will cost you a maximum of $50. Breast implant checks are only available in the Sydney Metropolitan area at present, but we will be opening new centres and will update you as soon as they are available.
